3 Things to Do before Summer Ends

It is really hot outside  and I'm really feeling it lately even with me living right next to the beach.

Before summer ends and we drag out the sweaters and boots, lets do some fun things to celebrate this grand time of year we have.

1.  Have a Summer Dinner Party - Grab some of your friends and family and have a goodbye to summer party.  Nothing like a gathering with good food, good friends, and good times.

2.  Take a summer boat ride.  Get to the nearest mass of water and hop on board.  Bring the family or make it a romantic trip.  Taking a boat tour can be a really relaxing and memorable experience

3. Create a signature summer Drink! And don't worry you can create something sans alcohol soeveryone can enjoy it and this drink can travel no problem.  All kinds of beautiful fruit is available this time of year so pick some and create it.

Summer Design Trends

Redesigning your home for the summer is really trending at the moment.  Blues and Greens are available everywhere and nods to nautical and beach themes are abundant.

Where does one begin and what to do if blue is not your most all time favorite color?

Ironically this company is called the "The Blue House Design" in Spanish yet I literally never even mention blue to the clients from the jump!

La Casa Azul's design perspective is about timeless design.  A design that can be moved from room to room , mixed and matched as needed.  This cannot be done if all the walls, sofas, rugs, and lamps are all bright yellow! You can have all the "statement" pieces your heart desires , but correctly placed and to  scale is key.

Quality trumps everything.  If it's too expensive , wait on it.  Remember buy it cheap , buy it again.

So if blue and green , is not your thing, then go elsewhere my friends!

Neutrals like , tans, whites, and gray scan create a foggy day at the beach vibe.  Surprise, surprise even black can be used for a beach theme.  Think black beach glass , pebbles and boat docs.

With a bit of bold thinking you can have a beach theme room that is a nod to beach and no bottles of sand or sea shells required.

The Truth of the Matter

So one of the great things about the internet is that you put out into the universe whatever you want. You can be anonymous, you can be known. You can tell a lie, half of the truth (AKA a lie) or the whole truth.

Over the last several months I have been too busy to post...but recently decided this is a wonderful outlet that clients and fans of La Casa Azul Design enjoy.  As I have seen many of you looking for more posts.

Well, seek and you shall find... but first I would like to address the Truth.

The truth is that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.  He died for you and rose again on the 3rd day.  He ascended to the right hand of the Father and He cares for you. (John 3:16)

I deemed it really important to post this because of the status of affairs that I see.  I am definitely not sitting in judgement as I know I am a sinner myself worthy of eternal punishment. (Romans 3:23)

If it weren't for the free gift of salvation I would definitely share that fate. (Ephesians 2:8)

There are a lot of good things in life , the beach, the beautiful blue sky, fun times with friends and family, but God is GREAT.

If there is one truth I have discovered, that is definitely it.  Hopefully this helps anyone who reads this to not take themselves too seriously.  All the things that we choose to rant over in hindsight are small and insignificant .. there is only one thing worthy of being up in arms over and that is being the light of Christ....letting that light shine... loving your neighbor as yourself and loving the Lord your God with all your heart.  (Ephesians 4:31) (Matthew 22:37)

Yes! I am getting preachy! Yes I am talking directly to you!  Hopefully this doesn't turn you away...hopefully it shines a light on things you already know are true.  Hopefully you get to the real Truth of the matter and live that truth to the fullest!!!

Many Blessings!

More Fabulous Design info to come! Stayed tuned ..love you dearly! :)
