What does your Entry Say About Your Home
I recently had the privilege of working on this beautiful Rolling Hills , California Home!
The client was at a loss on how to proceed on her entry and other areas in the home and what materials to select in order to make this entry stand out! That is where I gladly stepped in. My typical client is one that has attempted to complete a particular project on their own and has ceased to move forward because they came across some difficulties.
I adore helping problem solve , its like a design puzzle. The entry to your home sets the stage for the rest of your home and really needs to be thought out. Do I want to say this is a formal space? Is this a casually luxurious home? You decide the environment and feeling and really think about what it will say about your home.
At this home it was all about neutrals and subtleties that made an impact.
This client is elegant and casual and would be entertaining various professionals in the same manner..... So the approach was simple.
I adore the way , when layered properly, neutrals really wow, and inside this entry we decided to place a handmade rug in a European style weave. It is a one-of-a-kind rug , 100 % wool, hand knotted , and took nearly one year to construct, but once we rolled it out we knew it was made for the inside of the entry.
This home is very eclectic, lending from French Provincial, Spanish Colonial and other styles...... so the rug tied all of those ideas together beautifully. After just the right custom benches are made to scale for the entry, custom oversized planters for the outside, this entry will finally be finished and look amazing..... Fingers crossed.
